Photographs taken from around 8pm showed an area cordoned off near Roller’s café. Officers were also outside on High Street, where several police vehicles and crime scene investigation teams were pictured.
Police had been at the scene from about 8.10pm. Officers were seen inside the cordon earlier in the evening, while video footage showed two police cars nearby as enquiries continued.
The city centre shopping centre has seen two stabbings during October. Greater Manchester Police had been approached for further information about Tuesday’s incident.
