Emergency repairs after a burst water main on Wednesday 28 October closed Portland Street and Piccadilly Gardens bus station, diverting buses.
Portland Street and Piccadilly Gardens bus station were closed after a water main burst on Wednesday 28 October, with city centre buses sent on diversions.
United Utilities expects repairs to take ‘several days’. Bus diversions remain in place as road repairs continue.
Passengers travelling into or out of the city centre have been advised to use the TfGM website or Bee Network app to check affected services and the latest travel updates.
Alison Chew, TfGM’s Network Director for Bus, said the road and bus station would remain shut until further notice during emergency repairs. TfGM teams were deployed across the city centre to help passengers.
Police and United Utilities attended the burst. Floodwater collected at the Chorlton Street junction, while the Gym Group on Faulkner Street temporarily shut.
